The Silicon Beach Talent Team
A new kind of search firm
SBT was founded in 2015 by recruiting leaders from Tesla Motors- started at the ground floor and scaled the company through IPO and delivery of multiple programs. After spending many years in talent operations building internal organizations, our founders identified a gap in the market between internal recruiters and external agencies, a gap that SBT filled by providing a fractional Chief Talent Officer with the horsepower of an agency behind them. Essentially combining the knowledge and engagement of an internal executive with the external focus of a third party headhunter.
Given the team’s background from Tesla, it was only natural for the big push in mobility to become a primary vertical for the SBT team along with the second vertical in Consumer Brands. Only a couple of years in, the next generation wave of hardware and IoT in 2017 really took off, further creating a 3rd niche for SBT to become the leaders in building incredibly technical organizations around hardware, IoT, deep tech, AI and more.
A Southern California Tech Fusion
As the SoCal tech scene grew, SBT became a central connecting hub for entrepreneurs, investors, and talent looking to invest in the Silicon Beach community. We partner with VC’s, Family Offices, Incubators, and high net worth investors that have a passion for moonshot companies tackling insane challenges. As investors and advisors ourselves we don’t just play in the startup world, we live there.
The SBT Difference
Our philosophy is that companies should approach talent the same way they approach investors, and that starts with your ‘why.’ As a boutique firm we take only a limited number of engagements at a time, and our founders work directly with all of our clients to make sure we are all putting our best foot forward together.
In today’s startup landscape it is more important than ever that your recruiting partner be an accurate extension of your company and its culture, which is why we are also very selective in the clients we take on; we only work with companies that we would want to work for ourselves.
We're picky about our partners
